Add a crowd-pleasing country rock flavour to your next event
The Western Suntones are an experienced Americana/Country Rock band playing well known covers and quality originals. Our specialty is events or functions that have a Western or country music theme.
In addition to electric guitars, bass and drums, our Dobro steel guitar and mandolin create a distinctive country sound that is unique in the Perth scene. We’re particularly known for our ability to engage with the audience so they feel part of the show and the event. We have played successfully at licensed premises (pubs, clubs, function centres), birthdays, weddings, festivals, dances and corporate events.
If you’d like to get your guests up and dancing, The Western Suntones are available in a full four-piece band format with drums. For more intimate events, at small venues or for background music we can play in a lower-volume trio format with upright bass.

A flexible song list played country rock style
Our originals are both danceable and easy listening. They have always blended well with our covers with on average two to three originals per set. The ratio of covers to originals in our event playlist can be easily varied to suit your personal preferences, the nature of the event and/or the type of venue.

In 2019 we released our album ‘Long Way Home’ which was nominated for album of the year at the 2020 WA Country Music awards. In 2020 we played on the main stage at the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival, and also the Outback Country Music festival. We have gigged extensively both in Perth and interstate for over 10 years and appeal to a diverse audience.
